Pruden was christened Alfred Charles Pruden (see his earlier mark at ACP) but changed his name on converting to Roman Catholicism. He was head of silversmithing at Brighton School of Art and his pupils included Gerald Benney, Michael Murray, and Anthony Elson. He died in 1974.
